If you’re coming to Buriram for a Buriram United match or a MotoGP weekend at Chang Circuit, there is one obvious answer: Amari Buriram United.
The hotel sits within the Thunder Castle complex itself — Chang Arena is a two-minute walk from the front door, and Chang International Circuit is approximately one kilometre away. On match days and race weekends, this proximity is hard to overstate. You can walk to the stadium, walk back, and be done with transport entirely. No taxi negotiation, no parking, no missing the post-race atmosphere.
Beyond the sport, the hotel occupies a position at the centre of what has become Buriram’s sporting district. The facilities are what you’d expect from Amari: a step above the typical provincial Thai hotel in every respect.

Rural Escapes
Buriram province extends well beyond the city, and some of the most interesting accommodation is found away from it entirely — small resorts and guesthouses in the surrounding countryside, near the temples and agricultural villages that make up the real texture of the region.
Properties in this category tend to be quieter, more personal, and significantly cheaper than city hotels of equivalent quality. If you’re in Buriram for longer than a few days, or if the province itself — rather than the city’s sport and nightlife — is the draw, staying outside the centre is worth considering.
One property worth singling out is Infinity SeeSun Resort, near Krasang — a rural area roughly halfway between Buriram and Surin. It’s the kind of place that wouldn’t look out of place in a glossy travel magazine and yet charges a fraction of what you’d expect: multiple outdoor pools, a water park, a restaurant, BBQ facilities, and staff who are both plentiful and genuinely attentive. It’s a legitimate resort, not a dressed-up guesthouse. The location is slightly isolated — that’s the trade-off — but it makes it an excellent choice for families, for longer stays, or for anyone who wants to decompress rather than be in the middle of a city. When to Book
For most of the year, Buriram accommodation is easy to find at short notice. The city is not overrun with tourists, and even mid-range hotels rarely sell out outside of major events.
The exceptions are predictable:
- MotoGP weekend — the entire city fills up. Book months in advance, not weeks. Prices across all categories increase significantly.
- Buriram United cup finals and AFC Champions League fixtures — smaller impact than MotoGP but still worth booking ahead, particularly for the Amari and properties close to the stadium.
- Phanom Rung Festival — the annual light show at Phanom Rung (typically April) draws domestic Thai visitors. City accommodation tightens briefly.
For standard visits outside these windows, booking a week or two in advance is plenty.
