Buriram United have been crowned 2026 Thai League champions, clinching the title with four games still to play. It is their 11th league title in club history and their fifth in succession — a run of domestic dominance without comparison in Thai football.
The title was confirmed on 12 April 2026 when closest challengers Bangkok United suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Nakhon Ratchasima, leaving Buriram mathematically unreachable at the summit of the table. Buriram United had done it again — and with room to spare.
Five in a Row: Why Buriram United Are Thai Football’s Greatest Dynasty
To win any football league five consecutive times is rare anywhere in the world. In Thai football, it has never been achieved by any other club.
Buriram United’s current streak began in the 2021/22 season. The 2022/23 title followed. Then 2023/24. Then 2024/25. And now 2026 — confirmed in April with matches still remaining. Each year the question has been the same: who can stop Buriram? Each year, nobody could.
Their 11 league titles place them clear of every other club in Thai football history. The nearest rivals aren’t close. In a league where clubs rise and fall quickly, Buriram United have built something that looks permanent.
Not Just Champions of Thailand
The Thai League title is secured — but Buriram United’s 2026 season is far from over.
They also reached the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League Elite, Asian football’s top club competition — the continent’s equivalent of the UEFA Champions League. Reaching that stage meant Buriram were among the eight best club sides on a continent of 4.5 billion people.
On 19 April 2026, Buriram United faced UAE powerhouse Shabab Al Ahli in the quarter-final in Jeddah. It was, by any measure, the biggest club match in Buriram United’s history. Buriram pushed Shabab Al Ahli all the way — goals from Guilherme Bissoli (penalty, 64′) and Robert Žulj (70′) hauled them back to 2-2. But Renan struck in the 93rd minute to send the UAE side through 3-2 after extra time. A painful exit, but a performance that showed exactly how far Thai football has come.
Back-to-Back ASEAN Club Champions
As if the league title and continental quarter-final were not enough, Buriram United also won the 2025/26 ASEAN Club Championship (Shopee Cup™) — becoming back-to-back champions of Southeast Asia’s top club competition.
They reached the final by beating Johor Darul Ta’zim of Malaysia in the semi-finals: 3-1 away in the first leg on 6 May, then holding on through a 2-1 home defeat on 13 May to advance 4-3 on aggregate. The final was played over two legs against Selangor FC of Malaysia.
The first leg on 20 May 2026 in Kelana Jaya ended 1-0 to Buriram — Suphanat Mueanta with the only goal. In the second leg at Chang Arena on 27 May, Selangor drew level early through Yahir Bachar (18′), but Suphanat struck again to equalise (28′) and Theerathorn Bunmathan sealed it (55′). Final score: Buriram United 2-1 Selangor FC, 3-1 on aggregate.
Back-to-back ASEAN Club Champions. The greatest season in the club’s history — and there was still one more trophy to play for.
FA Cup Winners: The Season Complete
The final act of Buriram United’s extraordinary 2025/26 season came at Thammasat Stadium, Pathum Thani on 31 May — the Chang FA Cup Final against PT Prachuap FC.
Prachuap, making their first-ever appearance in the competition’s showpiece, proved difficult to break down. Ninety minutes passed without a goal. Four minutes into extra time, Robert Žulj struck to score the only one. Buriram United 1–0 PT Prachuap FC, after extra time.
It is Buriram’s record eighth FA Cup title — and it completed the treble: Thai League champions, ASEAN Club Champions, FA Cup winners, all in the same season.

Buriram United 2026 Champions: What This Means for the Province
Chang Arena sits on the southern edge of Buriram city — a 32,600-capacity stadium whose facilities rival anything in the region. The stadium shares a sporting campus with Chang International Circuit — the FIM Grade A track that brings MotoGP Thailand — 100,000 fans — to the province each February. On championship nights, the streets around the ground and across the province light up in blue and gold, the club’s colours carried on flags, shirts and every vehicle in sight.
Buriram is a small city by Thai standards — a market town that most foreign visitors drive through rather than stop in. Its football club has turned it into a name recognised across Asia, and the pride that the 2026 championship generates in the rice fields, the village roads and the market stalls is genuine and runs deep.
Five consecutive league titles. A continental quarter-final. Back-to-back ASEAN Club Champions. The FA Cup. The treble. Buriram United’s story is still being written — and the 2025/26 chapter may be the hardest to follow.
